Mission Statement

     The 6+1 writing traits model provides Central Square teachers a collective vision and vocabulary for describing the qualities of writing: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, and presentation. This shared vision and universal vocabulary for writing assessment allows for precise, complete feedback on student writing performance. The 6+1 writing traits model is a powerful analytic assessment tool that can be used at all grade levels and across all content areas. Using this model, we can clearly articulate the goals of teaching writing and the purposes for writing assessment.
